just carried out an engine change to find out y replacement starter just clicked when i turned the ignition on. ON investigating i observed that the solenoid popped the gear out but the actual motor was not whirring up... the solenoid is not seized.
i tested another starter and the same outcome... a click as only the solenoid gear popped out.. again no whir....
anyone have any ideas... ???  cheers in advance gibbo |

do you mean you tested the starters with them not bolted to the engine?
Or they were bolted to the engine and it was clicking but not turning the engine over? |

ive bolted them in.. and received the click... I may have sussed it .. being a bad earth/ i have totally redone every earth on my car and emery clothed them..hopefully that'll sort it.. my bulbs just gone midway fitting so cant check this evening.. typically ;~( |
