Onlt happens at 80+, comes and goes, tends to come when i turn right, even slightly, ie changing lanes.

Checked wheel bearings and i'm pretty sure they are ok, can't be ballencing as its only tehre sometimes, got a new o/s drive shaft about 6 months ago, but i'm thinking it might be the n/s CV joints?

Anyone else got any ideas

might be the ns shaft, but it might be balancing, balancing problems only show up at certain speeds, they are not there all the time.

Well i can't do anything much about the balancing till ym tyres arrive, so will chec the VC joints for play, cheers Chris.

What i ment was some of the time ic an be doing 80 and get no vibration, turn a slight corner, remaining at the same speed and it comes back, after a while ti wil go again, all remaining at the same speed, whohc doesn't make sense if the wheel is resonating, due to being out of balance

I get that when changing lanes on a motorway in the TD, I just assumed one of the CV joints was starting to go.

Its very similar to what i had when the other CV joint was going, so this is why i'm wondering if its that again, better not be my fucking new shaft

Well just had new tyres fitted, so will see what its like on the way to uni tomorrow

Ok, new tyres and still got the vibrationg, although i've now discovered the o/s caliper is sticking on ever so slightly, i'm thinking this might be causing it, had a bit of a test, kisk in at 80 and is there to well voer 1200, starts getting bad at 100+, so i got scared and slowed down.

Will get a new caliper nexyt week and see what effect that has, will pick up a couple of driveshafts at the same time, although i cold do wihtout having to buy more gearbox oil

when changing the ns shaft jack the passenger side up as high as you can, shouldn't need more oil then.

Gonna attempt to unstick my caliper sunday afternoon after work, hopefully this will sort the problem

Its a combinatoiion of the brake bindng on slightly which has caused the wheel bearing to go, hence the vibration

Make sure the other caliper is free!

Yeah other caliper is fine, one of the guide pins had got clogged up and woudln't move, took alot of effort to pull it out, both now cleaned and re-greased

Ok people any more ideas?

New tyres fitted
Changed wheel bearing
unstuck front brakes

And its still fucking vibrating.

Checked the drive shafts and ther is slight play in the inner o/s CV joint, but i only got a re-con shaft from GSF about 6 months ago, could this be what is causing it?

have you checked for run out on the disc?

You mean if the disc is warped?

yes, chances are the hubs not clean or bent.

when I got bens clio the wheelbearign had changed and when they hammered it they squashed a bolt hole thus expandign it out making the disc not sit flat.

Ok, will check that, but can't see that it would have just happened like that, it was literally one day fine, then vibrating the next day
