Creeking noise, sounds grim, when turning at at real slow speeds like five point turns (sorry three point turns) sounds like strut bearings, any idea?
you'l have to shout cos the radio is turned up to kill the noise!

where is it?

If its inside then column or even the rubber boot at the bottom.

if the rack itself it may be dry (will also be felt at the wheel) so pop the gaiter off and grease the rack.

Easy way to see if its the bearing is to pop the track rods off the hub carriers and spin the rack, no noise then its the bearings, spraying wd-40 at em can silence them for a while.

Cheers Chris, i,ll try that as soon as i can, the noise is driving me mad, specially in the morning as i live in a cul-de-sac.(French for dead end) and i can't be bothered to turn round when i get home ,so in the morning all the neighbours get the "creeking" as i turn round.

The same thing used to occur with my 5gt and it turned out to be the bearings.
