I'm going to get a de-cat pipe for my r19 16v as I'm replacing the exhaust the system (it sounds like a rattly clunky diesel) and was looking at K-tec
http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=320
and noticed it comes silenced or unsilenced.

I'm thinking just a straight thought unsilenced but dont want to sound like a rudeboy corsa owner with an annoyingly loud over-the-top exhaust but I love the sound of the engine and want the best performance..
Does anyone have either of these?

if its being fitted into a standard system then it won't make hardly any difference to the noise, just a bit of a rasp at topend...thats with the straight through.

different case if you have a stainless system already where the cat may be the only form of silencing at present.

Cheers for the help guys, bought and fitted a full stainless powerflow custom exhaust, doesnt have a joint for the decat pipe, goes straight from manifold.
F**KING LOUD.
It may be a bit too rude boy but I can't complain, it sounds a million times better than the rattly-s*ite that was on it before and a good price too.

edit. -Oh and i relation to the emissions stuff, its a ph2 so I'll be looking forward to changing the exhaust around again come november Rolling Eyes

A quick qu.
Do I need to worry about overfuelling etc?
The exhaust seems to pop a bit, but the Mixture sensor (Lambada?) is in the exhaust manifold/downpipe right? So it should be working properly and I shouldn't worry about fuel ecomony getting crapper?
