Okay, so I start the car.....it seems to turn over a bit funny like, and then eventually starts and the car is 'shuddering' as if it was running on 3 cylinders, which I think it was, so I turned it off to go & check the plugs & leads etc. Last time this happened, it was obvious what was wrong, cuz one of the leads had worked it's way off the dizzy cap, but this time, everything was seemingly okay. So I tried again.......this time just kept turning over and didn't start......exactly as if it was immobilised y'know? So I double checked everything again then......everything seemed fine.....all leads connected, all plugs okay......so tried it again.....turned over a bit funny, like spluttering for life almost......eventually fired.......was running on 3 then again........and after a few seconds seemed to corrrect itself to 4 and now has been okay since! Strange bloody car lol

Any chance of water ingress to the plug wells?

Could be I spoze, but the weather recently has been pretty rain free around here, and I haven't washed the car for ages so isn't water from that.......I dunno! My end spark plug lead (one nearest the cam cover) was a bit oily, but it always has been since I got the car. Even after I changed the rocker cover gasket. I doubt it's that tho. Car was completely fine yesterday, started first time with no hickups whatsoever.....so....I dunno! Just a random weirdness moment I think

Hmmm... I tend to agree with bbracer16valver, looks like the iggy module is going... Does the iggy module have a 2 or 3 pin connector? Could worth checking... On the other hand, if you say the rotor cap is always oily, there could just be an oil leak from inside (distributor bearing) isolating the power to the rotor contacts...

Tricky, since problems tend to appear along time rather than suddenly...
