I remember glancing at something in the Haynes a while back about needing some kinda special Renault tool to drain the oil outta the engine. I'm fed up of puttin me car in the garage for something as simple as an oil change, gonna start doin it meself. But I need this tool thing obviously.
Can I get one from anywhere other than Renault? Or will I have to go straight to Renault to get one? Is it actually a 'special' tool? Or just an allen key or something? |

its an 8mm square thing. You can get one from halfords as a 3/8" 'socket' for your ratchet |

Alternatively you can just use a bit of square bar such as the bit that goes between the handles in an internal door in your house, and an 8mm spanner/mole grips on that  |

I had to replace the diff circlip over the w/e & as part of that I had to drain the gearbox, if this is the same then I did it with a standard socket.
the inside of the plug IS hollowed as if for a special tool but the outer shape is standard six sided nut.

Hes talking about the sump, as in the bit that holds the engine oil. I assume you didnt drain your engine oil to change the diff circlip!  |

I usually use a torx screwdriver. I can't remember if my last 19 had the same fitment |

very sure, it's one of the flat rubbersied plugs with a torx fitment. |
