will the alloy sump fit on a block that has a tin sump? (clio 16v) i need to get an alloy sump as the engine wont go in with the tin sump on as it catches the subframe and wont go in as the cutout on the bottom is different

well the engine is out of leanne's N reg so unless its just because the shape of the sump is different on a 19 to a clio or i cant tell my metals apart (quite likely)

subframe, it is a very slightly different shape (groove on the cam side isnt as deep) the part number is different too, just to check the jb3 on the 19 is the same as a clio isnt it?

the boxes casings are all the same, both run jb3's but different final drive rratios.

Is it the pokey down leg bit thats catching? you can chop that bit off.

no its actually cathing the subframe and pushing the box and down which making the diff sit on the steering rack! it is litlerally millimetres but its enough so that the engine wont line up properly on the mounts
