just curious as to why some standard 16v tailpipes come out further than others and some are dead on line with the bumper(like the one on docs ph2)??

Bumper fitted properly?
Engine mount gone? (Thus allowing engine and therefore exhaust to move)
Exhaust fitted correctly?
Is exhaust an OE part or replica?

Could be allsorts. Remember an exhaust isn't securely fixed to the car, it uses rubber mountings to allow for play when the cars moving/running.
