Evening lads and ladies

As anyone down south will know its been a rainy day today, and im guessing the rain has caused my 16v to play up.

I drove it home from my girlfriends last nite and it didnt skip a beat, but tonite i went to drive up to my local halfords, all was fine as first, and then, out of no where it started to play up, the revs keep dying. The only way to get it home to to rev the f*!k out of it.

I got it home and gave it a few revs and this time the exhaust back fired several times. My mate and me both guess the wet weather was the reason and, after giving it a good 20 minute drive all seens fine.

I know iv probably answered my own question, but im driving to cornwall tomorrow(about 300miles), and just want some reassurance it was just the wet weather and nothing else. Also is there anything i should do to ensure i have no probs tomo.

My mate recommends wd40 in the sparks plug holes, anything else?

Cheers
James

is it a ph1 u have jimmy?

they are known for getting water down the plug well thanks to the crap bonnet vent.

clean the plug well out, its prolly full of water like BB suggested.

the only way to prevent it is by having some sort of cover over the top of the rocker cover to deflect the water down the back of the engine

jimmy, go to google and type in hill power, there a renault specialist , and they sell a carbon water deflector which goes under the front strut brace and deflect the water to the back of the engine bay

my phase 1 does exactly the same whenever it rains
