well today was a day and a half in regards to weather and getting work done, could have done more but could have done a lot less!

first lets get the chammy pimp pic out the way, pure gangsta, I love it, the radio in the car was on for 6 hours today and the car still started at the end of the day! lol

da shizzle ma nizzle

[img:567:378:ad2676a7c0]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/chammy%20mofo%20pimp%20bling%2001.jpg[/img:ad2676a7c0]

The black exec

I had to remove the subframes and the knackered seat runners to change to the 3 door items for the exec leather, heres a bolt the guy tried to drill out

[img:567:378:ad2676a7c0]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/exec%20leather%2001.jpg[/img:ad2676a7c0]

[img:567:378:ad2676a7c0]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/exec%20leather%2002.jpg[/img:ad2676a7c0]

[img:567:378:ad2676a7c0]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/exec%20leather%2003.jpg[/img:ad2676a7c0]

thats it back to how an exec should be.

the blue hatch

I never planned to do much on this today, but the sun was out so why the hell not.

I first looked at the rear druivers caliper its leaking. its leaking in an unusual way, the handbrake lever boot is filling up with brake fluid! Need to put another caliper on it.

then I braved it and removed the drivers side side skirt. Now bear in mind the exec is bad, I was expecting worst case to be exec bvad, I needn't have woried, its a lot better than the exec but needs sorted none the less!

after extensive poking

[img:567:378:ad2676a7c0]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/blue%20hatch%20os%20sill%2001.jpg[/img:ad2676a7c0]

the back, you can see the fork lift truck got it here, I folded it back down after I took the pic so doesn't look as bad now, still needs cut otu and welded though!

[img:567:378:ad2676a7c0]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/blue%20hatch%20os%20sill%2002.jpg[/img:ad2676a7c0]

more forklift damage

[img:567:378:ad2676a7c0]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/blue%20hatch%20os%20sill%2003.jpg[/img:ad2676a7c0]

after a bit of hammer time

[img:567:378:ad2676a7c0]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/blue%20hatch%20os%20sill%2004.jpg[/img:ad2676a7c0]

the front of the sill

[img:567:378:ad2676a7c0]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/blue%20hatch%20os%20sill%2005.jpg[/img:ad2676a7c0]

I straightened this back out

[img:567:378:ad2676a7c0]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/blue%20hatch%20os%20sill%2006.jpg[/img:ad2676a7c0]

another bit I straightened out, it was folded right up

[img:567:378:ad2676a7c0]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/blue%20hatch%20os%20sill%2007.jpg[/img:ad2676a7c0]

I then moved inside and took off the rear trim, the drivers side is the side with the holes on the rear 1/4 under the window, I knew it wasn't good, I never knew it woudl be like this though!

removing trim

passenger sides rear 1/4 has been replaced, note non renault paint and sound deadening

I then got under the bonnet, I tried to remove the speedo cable before but it wasn't shifting, it did today, there was a cloud of orange powder, the coolant had been leakign right into the cable hole so thats why it was tight, I cleaned it up and lubed it though so its easy to push in and out

[img:567:378:ad2676a7c0]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/blue%20hatch%20speedo%20out.jpg[/img:ad2676a7c0]

I then removed the downpipe and cat, the cat is a eurocat replacement but has no insides! You can see where its been blowing on the downpipe.

this is what a hatch looks like with 2 full interiors as well as its own!

[img:567:378:ad2676a7c0]http://www.renault-turbo.com/chris/blue%20hatch%20stuffed.jpg[/img:ad2676a7c0]

tomorrow if the weather holds out I shall drain fluids etc in readiness for the engine removal.

Is that a 'PH2' shell on your PH1? You sure have some rusty valvers at your place!

Is the Chammy rust free?

yes the chammy is rust free apart from the bonnet and a wee bit at the base of the bqack arches, the sills etc are not holed though.

ts a ph1 shell.

the rust at the window was due to where the car sat, right under a tree for at least 10 years, theres still sap on the car in places!
