You know, this all reminds me of something someone posted a while back about the cracking on the top mounts being a known issue mentioned in the technical notes in dialogys somewhere, and that Renault did a modified top mount that you could take the car back and get fitted.

The fact that your mate referred to it as a 'top mount mod' and it comes as a reduced price kit makes me think...

renault replaced most of the top mounts when the fault was discovered free of charge

that depends if the owner took the car back to get the work done

yea they were doing them at services i think or a genrall recall i no there was sumat
