Ive got to say, being parked on an incline/decline wont make any difference to the ride height either

Aye, maybe a couple of mm on a steepish incline, but look at the pictures, its a pretty big change in height and the incline is bugger all really

gravity doesn't apply in neals world!

mine used to sit then hold then roll back then stop and sit superhigh due to that, I could easily get my hand in the gap!

It does, but even if you try to pull away in reverse with the handbrake on it doesnt raise that much, so hows it going to do it just by being on a hill?

YAY!!!! I fitted the shocks last night and the car handles better ( both sides have the same damping force now Smile )

Having said that, as expected the car is till pretty much on it's arse and I just don't know why. It's not the shocks and it's not the rear mounting points for the rear beam (four bolt bits either side just in front of rear arches) as the mounts would be visible damage i.e rust/corrosion.

What on earth has made my back end drop like this. The tyre is about 1-2cm into the arch and I can't figure out why. Also it's both sides of the car not just one.

Rear beam itself srewed? Any bushes on the rear beam at all that could've gone? Could the tortion bars be causing a problem?

Is there anything else it could possibly be? Almost at the point now where I'm gonna resign myself to getting screwed over and take it to a garage.

if it was the torsion bars then it wouldbe on the bumpstops and there woul be no springing.

I reckon your imagining it or you have slabs in thre boot etc!

Lol. I wish mate. Nothin in the back exept the sub n two amps which were in there before it got lower.

How high(er.... I mean low) would the car be sitting if it were on the bump stops. In fact no it's not on the bump stops at all. The i can still push thwe back end down a bit so it's not on the stops.

So there are no busher or anything on the beam that it could be?

no bushes etc that would do that.

only thing thats reasonable is the torsion beam has lost its spring but you say you can bounce the rear so thats not happened.

I am well and truly lost on this so I'm goin to a garage on monday to get em to have a "proffesional" look at it. Bet they try and do me over for something.

Hmmm...I may well just put it thru an mot next week and just fix what I need to for that then worry bout everything else afterwards.
