anyone got any good tips for freeing off a track rod end from the track rod?

Done both ball joints this morning no bother, and the passenger side track rod end, also with no bother, but the drivers side one just aint budging, not even the locking nut will move. Had a spanner on the flats at the inner end of the track rod, wedged against the driveshaft to stop the track rod rotating and was clouting another spanner on the locking nut, nothing.

Done the usual dousing with WD40 and ill have another go tomorrow.

right, i freed up the locking nut by....hacksawing it off.

still cant move the TR end though. Looks like it will have to be the blow torch... bollocks.

Well, i got the bugger off by heating the rod up to cherry red, and smacking the shite out of the rod end with a spanner and a big hammer. Just need to get the tracking done now and then all will be right with the world once more.
