as some of you may recall I put a post up in gen chat about triumph dollys. I love these cars.

heres a pic

Image

this car has been sat round the corner from the weekend not moving,. I have seen it around paisley for a while now its up near my mums. So I dunno if its been dumped I doubt it has but you never know.

Its a triumph dolomite sprint, a genuine sprint, no crappy wimpy models but the 2 litre 16V 120bhp beast thats not far off 30 years old.

twin SU's David.

yeah alan the one round the corner.

And today its gone!

Pi was used on the TR5's, the TR5a went back to carbs mainly for the american market. TR6 may have had it, cannae mind, getting old and this info is taking up valuable space for remembering names etc!

Some of the Triumph 2000's had the pi.

120bhp which from a 70's road engine of 2 litres is very respectable.

The engines were meant to go in the TR7 but they never got them.

SOHC rockers were used to activate the valves.

would have been a waste in the tr7 mate. don't see many of these any more though, or come to think of it 2L hs / hsr or lotus sumbeam? they were wicked cars.

a few have been stuck in the TR7 and they go well with them. TR8 is the only way really.

Sunbeam lotus, I think i have actually saw 1 on the road. Lovely cars.

The HS's and the HSR's are very rare up here.

Seen a few lotus cortinas lately though.

used to compete against a couple of lotus sunbeam's but I haven't seen a hs or hsr for years, nor a genuine lotus cortina.

hi chris just looking back on some of the pics, the tr 5 does have the p.i, there was never a tr5a, there was a tr4a, but never a 5a, and the tr6 does have the p.i system. I also have 3vc and 6vc where i work, the owner of the business owns them.look them up on google or something.
many thanks Cool
