i have a renault kangoo 1.9 diesel and im wanting to know what turbo i could fit ? and what other parts i may need to buy and fit..
is it posible ?

any help would be much appreciated Smile

As its a diesel you'll be better off sticking a TD lump in it.

isnt it easy fitting one ? i havent a clue what to do.. i wouldnt mind keeping the engine i have at the moment as its quite new..

so you're not going to explain how and what i need to do to fit a turbo to my standard 1.9 diesel ? why do i need a new TD engine when there is nothing wrong with the one i have in now..

Basically the Diesel lump runs a high compression anyway, about 18:1, with a turbo you are increasing this even more with out increasing the strength of the other componants, so something sooner rather than later will go bang.

Using a TD lump means it will run a slightly lower compression to compensate for the turbo. With the Turbo conversion, you will need the downpipe, ECU, loom etc. Im not too sure on what mounts the Kangoos run, so cant reallyu comment on what engine, if any will drop in.

cheers dan, you've told me stuff about it no-one else has..

whats a loom ? and it is posible to fit a turbo right ? i would just need a oil feed from somewhere ?? better coolant system, intercooler, ECU, exhaust manifold, front pipe, injection manifolds, engine gaskets ?

how much would you think all that work might cost ? and is it easier/cheaper to just buy a TD that would fit or trade mine in for a kangoo TD..

i just need to know whats cheapest i guess..

Cheapest would be to get a TD lump, as your going to have to get a manifold made up, downpipe, oil feed, Turbo(new are around £700!)

And the loom is all the wiring to do with the engine. It will be alot cheaper to get a TD lump as you wont have to worry about finding a decent enough feed.

DT should drop in no messing, no ECU to worry about as it doesnt have one, minimal electrics. DTI might be a bit more of a problem though.
