As a vain attempt not to be out done by shakals MPI conversion I had this thought.
The 1.7 unit used in the volvo 480 turbo was the same as that used in the 19 before the intorduction of the F3P (is that correct?)
How similar is it to the F3P, i.e. how 'easy' would it be to take the turbo gubbins off a volvo and stick in on my 19? |

simple - I'll have one of those please!
Only asking as there's a guy on one of the mini forums I frequent selling a 480 turbo for £175 and it got me thinking - I suppose engine swap is the easiest way to go.
Always fancied a supercharger, there was a guy in the mini club who had a supercharged mini, built it himself, the noise was something else  |

I had thought about buyign a load of volvos and sticking th elumps in 19's/clio's but no one would buy em! |

I believe the volvo lump is 126bhp as standard, but can be tuned up way beyond that.
quite keen on a turbo but he's a bit far away from me and it's an no tax or mot job, but will keep a look out for one localy. |
