Heres a couple of pics of 2 of my 17" tyres, as I took them off the car when i got back from Scotland:

you only need 1.3mm of tread across 1 third of the tyre to be legal.

They are at the wear indicatpors, so classed as legal.

But yes they are dodgy as buggery.

1.6 yep, dunno why I said 1.3, I even have a keyring saying 1.6! lol
