Hi peeps,

bit of advice needed, both my toyo's on the front of my 19 16v have been scrubbing for while now on the outside edges to the point of i'm seeing the begining of the white threads under the rubber, and quite an agressive angle has formed on both outside sides.

However i would have said that there is no way the tracking could be this much and in fact this is due to the suspension being f**ked, i.e. either the springs being warn 160K on the car, or the shocks are gone allowing the front to drop so much which it is low, so as to make the tyres scrub out like this.

also the car suspesion at front seems very bouncy if the camber of the road is up and down alot the handleing is almost out of control, what does this suggest?

can anyone shed any light on this prob??

ta

springs are probably fine shocks will be dead.

trackings probably out a lot more than you think.

Its meant to toe out as standard.

would dead shocks allow the car to drop to cause this amount of scrubbing ?
i.e. you can't fit old skool, (non laser) tracking things on as the top bits hit the arch

not really tbh, they will nto help with tyre wear though. They will induce a degree of excessive bump steer on undulatiosn and bumps but I would go with dodgy tracking.

else is there anything else that would make the front of the car drop, i.e forcing the camber out enough to cause this kind of wear u think ?

in past experience i had shocks go forcing the car up, a different car though?

the bump steer on the cars is very low so tbh even at full droop or extension the toe angle will not be that far out. I have uised them with springs that are missing 2 coils on 1 side and not had a problem

make sure they send you the right ones (BOGE) and not the Bilstein ones (no-16V) as they have them listed for the 16V

I got standard shocks from ECP and they were fine, don't remember what make they were! (crosses fingers)
