afaik the pipers dont suffer from snapping like kents.

I could never understand why they snapped anyway.

Is it due to the use of inferior metals and poor machining?

or is there a design fault?

too many weak load supporting points, so yes a shite design.

I saw some modified verniers but they cost a small fortune! I just couldn't justify the £ - BHP ratio.
