Just won an ebay auction for a K7M cylinder head. According to the auction it is a genuine renault part and brand new. From the pics it looks like it has the valves and cam in it.
Auction ended at........... £16
Sixteen whole pounds.

Right head as turned up. Looks sweet. Think my head might have had a skim at somepoint coz the bottom of it felt like it had slight ruff surface to it. This one is totally flat. Was thinking about giving the ports a once over just to clean up the crappy casting. Anything else i should do? |

any head taken off an engine will have a rought surface, when its skimmed its perfectly flat thats the point of a skim!
Work on the bowl area, don;t arse abotu with the ports or you will make it worse.
pm/mail me and I will give you pointer, ps sending me pics will be easier as I can highlight areas. |

Oh yeah when i mean ruff surface. It was like a slight curved ripple effect. you could feel it if you ran ya finger nail over it |

sounds like a very poor skim job. if thats the marks of the milling cutting paths your describing. |
