one of the water pipes connecting to the t-piece on my chamade has gone split the other day letting the water out and making me think the head was buggered for a while .i chopped the edges of the very same pipe and stuck it back on .

but today after a 7 miles drive to work i have seen water vapour coming from under the bonnet as i parked up . opened it and found out the fecking pipe was coming out off the t- piece this time . it was not that hot luckily and hope this did not cause any damage .

i put the pipe back in even tighter with the jubilee clip and sorted fot the time being

but i want to get some brand new pipes for this car as it is quite annoying when one splits and takes all your brand new antifreeze out .

anyone now what type of rating is used for these pipes ? are they all the same ??? (i.e: the top rad pipe and the thinner ones behindthe engine )

can they only be bought from renault ????

would they be the same rating pipes on a 1.8 8v version so that i can cut to shape and use on the chamade 16v????

would it be better to use higher rated pipes??? (like some sell on ebay )

renault.

totally different from the non 16V cars. The 16V pipes have a whirte membreane in em for aded strength as the systems at a higher pressure.

cherck the T piece itself for holes, pretty much every car I have worked on has a pin hole leak in it. Ok if the clips ahead of it but around the welds etc they go then it just leaks.

blue pipes etc are nicer to look at and they tend to be cheaper than ren gear so go for it if they are cheap.

I think Chris is referring to silicon pipes.

They come in sets designed for the car.

no bottom hose though, must have been too complicated for them to make.

New one of them from Renault iirc is about £70 odd.

I got a brand new one off ebay for a fiver the other day Very Happy

MEGA BUCKS!!!

You could get lucky though and find a cheap set on E-bay, although I haven't seen one yet.

any idea why there is a plastic ring inside this pipe that went split on my car ????
it looks like its there to not to allow the pipe to bend excessively ,but on the other hand it reduces the inner diameter of the pipe which i think is letting less water through .

its the pipe that connects to the metal t-piece under the dizzy cap ,the other end conects to a metal pipe on the engine head again (L shape)
