I was under the impression that they will get rid of the car to a breakers on receipt of payment, but there have been some that have gone before payment is accepted, so you dont want to hang about, keep on to them,

if they sell it before you have accepted an offer or signed it over I'd sue em, channel 5 have plenty of no win no fee lawyers that would jump at the chance to sue a big company.

If you know where it is going to go then speak to the breakers and say you want to buy it back off of them. But if you leave the plate on, they might take that
