I found this hanging the other week, it doesn't seem to stop anything working but surely it must be for something?

did you follow the wires ??? where do they lead to ????

yellow wire reminds me of alternator but i am pretty sure i am wrong

I tried schakal but the wire is snapped off so where am I going to follow it to??

The yellow one just dissapears into the loom and I've not realy had much chance to look.

ohh shit ,no big deal though ,cant you see the snapped bit at all ?? is it going underneath the engine???

you might need to jack it up and look from under the car ?

can you take a wider picture of the engine bay showing the location of the plug ??????

also the pic of the wiring loom the other bit goes into???

is it a 1 pin plug when you disconnect ?????

could be part of an old alarm?

but didnt think connecters like that were used on them?

here is a wider shot for you, as requested.

yes it is a 1 pin plug when disconected.

these are the other wires that come out from the loom with it.
they go into the loom just behind the fan, wich is behind the coolant pipe in this pic.

still no idea mate ,sorry .

wish you could trace the snapped bit of that black wire .
any idea what sort of route it was folowing before it snapped ????

na no idea mate. I'll get under the car tomorrow and have a look.

Got plenty of time to sort out these problems now anyway as I off work for 4 weeks!

4 weeks off Shocked

you can build up one of them bloody valvers from scrath in that time. that engine bay needs a bit of attention by the looks docs

I know mate, I'm going to strip her down, sort out the problems that I can see and give her a good clean.

all starting tomorrow when I get the old mans tools out.

its rare to find a 19 loom with the TB heater wire on it. plenty of TB's have the heater fitted but no wire.

Unplug it and remove the broken bit as it will short to earth

What was renault's intention with the throtle body heater?? you want cold air don't you? does anyone know, chris?

not for cold starting you don't!

cold air makes the fuel drop out of suspension and condense.

Its actually better for the air to be warm rather than freezing cold. Its all at odds with power!

Cold air does make it faster but to cold and it becomes very innefficient.

carbed cars and cars like SPI's have the thermostatically controlled valves between the cold air intake and the heated intake fromt eh exhaust.

The theory is to keep the air around 20 degrees constant.
