what speed can you get from your 1.4 energy

i can only seem to get about 100 mph tops, so i just want to know what speed everyone gets out of there 1.4 r19

iv had 2 19s and the ph1 was faster, i could get around 110, but iv seen posts on here saying that the 1.4s are able to get over 120mph Exclamation

Fair enough, mine did 120 when i drove downhill on the highway. Smile

Still if standard i won't get there atleast not easily renault marked it at 162Km/h which is 101.25Mph

My phase 1 carb 1.4 energy could hit 110mph possibly more on a motorway on a long straight on a longish one 105mph

i have had my 16v to 125 but i bottled it at that ,, i reckon i could get 130 maybe 135

my phase 1 16v - 135mph
my phase 2 16v - 130mph

my phase 1 is faster (and in standard trim) than the phase 2 (which has a stainless steel exhaust from cat back and a superchip.)
The phase 1 also got to 135 mph much quicker than my phase 2 took to get to 130mph.

however i think i may have the inlet cam one notch out when i did the cambelt on the ph2 a couple of months ago.
may have a play with that tomorrow and sort it out then take for a blast.
charge up the batterys on my digicam and do a vid and see how fast she can go (private test track of course Wink

)

My phase 2 16v did 138mph after a while but the gps showed only 132mph so my speedo a little out there but the dutch highways are perfectly smooth and well suted for speeding no bumps etc

my p1 1.4 did about 110 - 115, had it rolling roaded and was pushing 98bhp at the wheels, so it was a good example. However it would stick at arround 100mph and take a long downhill bit of motorway to do over 105.

havent taken my p1 16v over 80 yet as I keep breaking it, had it about 2 months and only been on the road for a week or so. Evil or Very Mad

Was doing 96mph till some astra decided to pull out further down the road.

I could have had 105mph with ease.

you lot have the most knackered heaps really you do. Georges old 19's and mine would easily top 120.

The red car with its raging 60 bhp goes to about 115.

1.4 energy 98bhp at the wheels. Lets assume a nice loss of what ohh 10% that still means you have what nigh on 110bhp flywheel output.

Na 1.4 energy lump to get that, its gonna need headwork along with either side draught carbs or throttle bodies. Its also gonna have to pull some serious rpm to get that output with stock cam and exhaust, maybe 10krpm or so, to get that rpm you need new rods, valve springs etc.

If you have headwpork, decent exhaust managed to get the cam re-ground with decent timing figures and assuming your still running the weber carb you might managed maybe 100bhp around 8 or so grand, if your lucky, this is also assuming at most 3% leakdown. With larger inlet valves you will get this power lower down.

Standard puts out 80 or so bhp when in top condition, normally they are putting out low to mid 70's. For a healthy one the @tw output will be high 60's.

well, I'll have to bow to your superior knolage on that, however I can't understand how the rolling road would have a readout that was that wrong?

However I've got the valver now, so it realy doesn't matter.

did your one that was doing 120 easy have any work done to the head??
