there is a little black metal pipe in the middle of the pics, it's slightly hidden in the first pic by the coolant hose in the middle of the screen. I'm sure there should be something connected to it but I cant find it. Can someone tell me what it's for and where the other hose woul connect?

spare, its only used on the cars with the oil cooler.

Ahhhh, thats good to know. I've been trying to find out why my car stutters when over 5000-6000rmp but only when in gear? It's feels like she hits the limiter. Once it's happened the car will do it in all gears once reved past 4000. Makes no sence as when stationary I can rev her up to the revlimiter smooth as anything.

Could it be some kind of short? any ideas where to start?

if it only does it under load then I'd be looking for dodgy fuel delivery or more likey a map sensor issue, hose burst etc.

I'll have a look after I sort these brakes. Cant get the bloody thing to wind back far enough to get the caliper bolted back on.

Yea if your not working with the smallest screwdrivers in the world!
Next one I'm taking the disc off! I can ued a big chissel then as its bigger than the screwdriver.

a normal sized screwdriver, thats what I use.

Ok it's all the way back but I have only managed to do up the top bolt, The other one wont alighn rite and is always just out when I try to do the bolt up, there is no more play and It's not making any scence Crying or Very sad .

The pads I got had like a niple on the back of each pad how ever the ones I took off only had 1 on the outside pad, the inside one nearest the caliper piston had a flat back. This ain't my problem is it???

what bolts? the ones that hold the carier to the caliper?

screw that in then fit the pads.

the lug shoudl go on the piston side, also surely you can't have 4 pads with the lug on them

Yup 4 pads with lugs! it was the only kind the factors did.

However when the old ones came off they were fitted with the flat edge towards the piston???

Can I just cut the lug off?

yeah cut a lug off. the lug goe sont he piston, the white chammys drivers side had the lug on the wrong side.

muppets who can't fit things right! Mad

managed to get it on without cutting off the lug but had to hammer it all the way in as I ain't got the knack of that metal slider yet.

don't tell me you put th eslider on then hammered th epads over it? lol wonder how long it will be until they fall out.

Put the first one in rite, the last one just wouldn't go so it got the hammer treatment Razz
