All the hoses and pipes are disconnected from my engine atm, some of them look a little worse for wear, especially the biggest one coming from the air filter - so I'm maybe thinking I could replace them before everything gets put back together.

Wheres the best place to buy them?

I'm not bothered about fancy ones either Smile

The main one I need is the big fat one that comes from the air filter and plugs in to the right hand side of the radiator (don't know the proper name Embarassed ). Only because it has a bit of a kink in it and the jubilee clip is missing and it's held on really loosely.

don't bother with it, I wouldn't.

Buiy a jubilee clip or even cable tie it back on.

You reckon? I just wanted everything nice and clean and neat. Must be the girlyness in me Laughing In fact the engine bay looks pretty shit and nasty. For some reason it's all rusty inside the engine bay but no where else on the car? Twisted Evil And why is all that paint stuff peeled off the cylinder head?

looks normal tbh

the coolant's rusty because its not been changed often enough.

The black paint peeling off the manifold heatshield is normal they all do it.

I bought the car with a duff cylinder head (£26 off Ebay) - got the local scrappy to put in a new engine for me because it was cheaper than getting the cylinder head fixed at a garage, but it looks pretty much identical to the old one. Foolishly I didn't look up the engine number or anything. He put it all back together and then told me the clutch was duff. Twisted Evil Evil or Very Mad so now we have to try and get the gearbox off and do it ourselves. Which isn'tgoing well Laughing
