righty theres a few options, north, rugged mountians great roads, far to travel though.

Central belt, glasgow, edinburgh etc, lock lomond and the trossachs etc great scenery and close to glasgow. Great roads if you knwo where to look, handy I do then eh!

further south, borders, dumfries etc, warmer deffo, less hilly but not as intresting, but its closer to most of you.

scotland has no lakes. They are called lochs, the name gives it away loch lomond, loch ness.

Loch lomond is good. It also feeds several smaller lochjs in the same area.

Up the highlands for the abandoned stuff roger

What about Cumbria? VERY pleasant scenary, close to Chris (!), plenty of Lakes (being the "lake district" and all!)+camp sites and i live there!!

drive down friday. stay sat drive home sun.

that is the point i am trying to make ,if this meeting is something important all of us will have to get the fingers out of our butts and reserve the day and stick to it .

i suggested saturday assuming most normal people do work 5 week days and have the weekends off ,so friday would not be the best day to meet thinking of people driving 300-400miles to the meet point .

for me anyday is fine ,i will just book it as a holiday

if ur gunna drive 300-400 miles then a weekend isnt enough....drive all day sat, have a late evening then go early in the morning...dont leave anytime to do anything except sleep.

fri night head up then sleep in the cars/tent etc then

leave sun night.

Or make use of the mayday long weekend!
