yes but why is the matrix bot connected? Cos its leaking so sort it out.

The pipes are different sizes so even with a reducer they don't seal right unless you have run it straight to the expansion tank.

I have the same problem though.

get it vacuum tested mate only way to see if its leakign somewhere

well tomorrow's job is to change the matrix, the new one is sitting on the passenger seat. Was going to be today's job after the brakes but it started to rain.

ahh well.

Good luck mate, its not really hard just time consuming. Helps if you have a pal to help remove the dash.

right, well the new matrix is in!

wasnt too hard either, once i realised that the haynes was full of crap and most of the stuff it tells you to do is totally unneeded. Didnt even remove the dash in the end, just unscrewed it enough to pull it away from the bulk head, then reached under from the passenger side and pulled the heater box out.

thats as far as i moved the dash

the obligatory comparison shot, old at the bottom, new at the top

and lastly a close up of the old matrix, obvious where its been leaking from.

so, no longer will i have to freeze my arse off in the morning on the way to work, and ill be able to de mist the screen, and all is well with the world once more.

I see you done the traditional break the centre support off then.

i always remove the dash is just pulling it out tends to break things.

centre support? the little prong thing that pokes into the hole at the back of the stereo aperture? no, i didnt break it, i pulled the dash forward far enough to clear that.

maybe neal. Since doing that hose that burst on mine under the inlet manifold when it got obscenely hot and had no water in it the coolign system onyl retains pressure for a coupel of hours and the level goes downa nd the heaters still cack.

before cack heater but 3 days later still pressure in the system.
