Found this and asked Prima if it will fit a F7P engine with 40's. As yet I haven't had a reply so will wait and see. Don't honestly think it will fit though. Anyone on here clued up on this one?

not sure on the flange pattern, i think its the same, but the runners wont match up properly to the ports in the F7P head as the meg ports are smaller.

In short, yes i think it would fit, but there would be a big step at the transition from the manifold runners to the head ports

what neal said. The bolt pattern is the same but the flange holes are not. there will be big overhangs.

Ok I thought as much. So basically it will fit but the airflow is going to be absolutely srewed unless i can get the ports to match the carbs. Is there any way of doing this as it still seems like a better option than £250 for a new mani. I guess it's easier to make a 40's manifold fit 45's than the other way round as well.

JB weld will not be suitable for that app, the ports will really need welding for the amount of material you need to add.

I have always wondered what a JB weld is as well.

I can only assume that it's a joke and JB weld is closer to chicken shit than weld. LOL

Basically my feeling is screw the hasstle and buy a new one. I mean am I even goin to save money buying the meg one and makin it reet.

Wow you actually got a response from Prima? Did you ring them or email? I emailed them about 647 years ago and nobody's answered. Bloody buggers

PMSL. You do have to send like 50 e-mails identical to each other before they realise I think.

Took a day and a half to get a response as well. As you can see from the quote they weren't too detailed in their reply. But I guess they have told me what I needed to know.

I cannot describe the anguish that I feel right now. The last few weeks I've been scouring Ebay for a mani that'll do the job. The chuffin meg ones need work and are £50 even second hand. The 19's mani is harder to find as well so probably more if one eventually pops up. Gutting when u see one going for a pinto for a tenner Rolling Eyes . Crying or Very sad

JB Weld is an epoxy resin type stuff with metal bits mixed in with it, very finely of course...when it dries it is as tough as nails...drill it, machine it, tap it, good stuff.

halfords etc do it.

I take it you can use it on heads to alter the shape of the ports ect?

yes but not adding a 10mm deep chunk on the side of the port to run 2/3 inches in.
