"This car was originally a prize in a competition run by the Daily Express in conjunction with the Renault Williams BTCC race team and their Nescafe sponsors. The car was modified by the team and now comes with:

17" alloys in unique gold, A.P. 4 pot race callipers with drilled and fluted big disks, Williams prepared stiffened and lowered suspension, flared and rolled wheel arches, race pedals, full leather interior, satellite navigation with built in screen, painted in 935 pearlescent racing green. The engine has also been touched by Williams, it now boasts over 200bhp with a V6 24 valve manual 5 speed gearbox"

Daily Telegraph? Chaved Up Laguna?

The guy is probably being serious, it's more likely to be that the bloke that sold him the car spun him that yarn and he believed.
