Anyone had any experience with these? How good are they in comparison to the like of Brembo?

Yeah you can get the whole kit for about £300, they don't have anything listed for Reno though so thats a pain

wat is it ur after. the calipers themselves r dead cheap. a guy off the evo forum a few years back fitted dynalites to his williams. standard discs, but 4 pot calipers. used to outbrake lambos round the circuits. not bad for 90quid a corner.

Yeah keep my current discs, they are servicable at least! How would I go about getting calipers that fitted the R19 vented discs?

Would any changed be required to the master cylnder or would it just be a case of attatching the break lines?

u might need different brake lines, but thats about it. standard discs r 20/22mm wide wen new, so jsut find a claiper thats around that area. then u got the hard part of making brackets ti fit the caliper to the hub - oh joy

compare to brembo? They are all the same pretty much. I am sure if jag race cars etc can use them they will do the job. Driven a few fords with them, they are fine.

Brackets easy to make.

I will have your old calipers George.

I understand the reason behind using 2/4/6 pot brakes and the performance that comes with them but what amazes me is that most bimmers (M3, M3 CSL included) have your average 1-pot brakes. and they outbrake quite a few cars (well nearly ANY car) with these things.
how do they do it?


larger brakes come at the price of increased unsprung weight, so that may be the reason BMW improved the 1-pot calipers.

Valvers can outbrake 90% of cars on the road when its all in tip top, but for some reason after smacking off a round a bout in the wet in my Valver Hatch I have been a little pernickety about tyres and brakes.... Wink

single piston calipers are fine, they always are.

Multi piston calipersd are there so muppets think they get better braking, they don't. only way changing brakes will bring around a difference is if the brakes that are there already are below par.

16V's are very good at braking. I want Georges old calipers so he can buy the 4 pots. They do look nice and they weigh a lot less than the stock cast calipers which brings around a weight saving and a reduction in unsprung mass which will not only let the car handle better but will allow the suspension to do its job better.

georges I told you not to rag the old 16V, you didn't listen so you crashed. You were also showing off like and arse which helped you crash and look liek an arse.

When the 19's braking system is in top nick and the tyres are very good, nice and grippy the car will stop astoundingly fast. I have yet to find a car that outbrakes the 1.4 set up when its working right. The 16V setup feels more solid but it doesn't actually really slow the car down.

This is true for girling calipers, bendix calipers are a totally different matter these are barely acceptable 99% of the time.
