My side window seals seem to have become bulgy and bubble. It seems to be just crap under them. Is it worth cleaning them or getting new ones?

Where can I get new ones if I must replace them?

renault for new ones, mega bucks I'd leave them unless its the a 5 door and its the channel that holds the rear 1/4 light in place as you can pop that out and clean the rust away and have it nice and smooth again.

i have cleaned the excess white powder(rusted alluminium) and stuck black sylicone underneath . i bought a brand new set for the drivers side though and it makes a big difference compared to the passengers window especially when u have rain drops on the windows and operate it up and down to get rid of the water ,drivers side seals do the job .

they are 70quid for the set for 1 door from renault and nobody else sells them either .

and i also think u asked this same question some time ago Rolling Eyes

Also, i think i read somewhere that the non-16v versions use different door seals that dont have the metal in them and therefore dont bubble. Im guessing this is shite, but can anyone confirm?

ok well thats why my comment came complete with something called a 'question mark'. 3 of them, in fact.

from the 2 statements quoted that

a) they cost £70 and are only available from renault

and

b) you got a new set

i think a person could be forgiven for drawing the logical conclusion that you might have got them from renault, and paid £70 for them, however foolish that would make you.

i still insist i never said i paid 70quid for them and i aint changing my story

Wanker! (now the smiley works at last) Laughing

but if that question mark is meant to find out where i bought the whole BRAND NEW set for a tenner ,than try asking nicely i might tell you Rolling Eyes

Also, the wanker smiley never stopped working, but if you put spaces in where there shouldnt be, it wont work.

ie :wanker: will work, : wanker : will not.

I was wondering.....how do you take them out to replace?
If i take non bubbly seals from my parts car and try to fit them on my RT,
will the seals break og something due to age if i try refitting used ones?

its really easy to take the seals out mate ,you have to remove the mirrors for a start , you mught be able to remove them without taking the door cards out .

than just pull the seal around the frame carefully ,it will pop out . i would apply some black sylicone around the edges while fitting if i was u
