Hey all, if I don't shift my car i'll be keeping it and fitting a valver in. Got someone to help with the mechanical side so that should be fine, but how different is the wiring? It's a carbed 1.4 btw.

Also if I wanted rear discs is is just a case of the rear axle swap? How would I get the wider track on the front?

thanks

Rear axle will need to be off of either a R5GTT or a Clio RSi to fit.

Wider front track requires a fair bit. Can't remember exactly what but afaik it involves driveshafts, shocks and wishbones.

As for wiring...pft dunno. Being a carbed car I doubt there will be much wiring in place.

Whether or not this is a help or a hindrance I wouldn't know.

Tbh I'd keep life simple and mod the E6J you've got already.

for front you will need a 19 16v ARB, one drivers side williams drive shaft 19 pass one then the wish bones (again 19 i think)

BB wtf are you talking about? How to make a mess?

you need the wiring, tank(s), fuel lines, filter bracket, radiator, exhaust etc etc

much easier to doit on a 1.4 injected car

I've got both cars on my drive so the parts arn't a problem. Why can't you use the 16v rear beam? Because of the handbrake?

It's the wiring that might mess me up.

why not just take all the bits you want off the 1.4 and keep the 16v car all it needs is a bit of body work

it needed more work than i thought, the inner panels were bent so the bonnet wouln't align properly nor would the lights.

I've got someone to help me now that knows a bit (got a williams R5 van) but would just like to clear some things up:

Will a 16v beam swap straight over? He says it will.

Are the gauges on the dash easy to swap over from the 16v?

Once the 16v loom is in the RT is it just a case of swapping the fuel tank and then connecting it up ?

Should I use the valver driveshafts or the RT ones?
