WTF is going on?

I just heard on the news of two seperate incidents both in Scotland.

First was a 7 year old boy and also his father, who were playing in a park were attacked. The 7 year old was punched in the head as was the father...

Why? because they were wearing England football tops!

The second unrelated incident was the same...wearing an England top..but this was a disabled guy dragged form his fucking car for it...

What the FUCK is wrong with people? I am not religious, but I swear Satan is winning.

Totally wrong, as you say mate. I'm all for a bit of banter about football and always say I support englands opponents etc - bu taking it to that extent is just wrong!!! It just takes a few moronic people to ruin the whole thing.

I lived in England for 20 years. I remember a Scottish bloke arrogantly walking around in a Scotland top just after England had lost to Germany in the 1990 WC. 3 days later he emerged from intensive care.

If you're minding your own business, you should not, under any circumstances be subjected to the kind of treatment. But, if you do as this guy did, you deserve everything you get, irrespective of where you come from

If he was parading around in a Germany top, I could see what the motivation was (even if not understand it) but it's not even as if it was Scotland who beat England in the 1990 WC is it...

its a real touchy subject for english.

I mean they are that crap they can't win a game for 40 years. They prattle on about 1966, thats nothing to be proud about, its just proving that they have been shite for 40 years!

Up here the english fans like to mouth off to see how they stand with the 'tough' scots. They are normally ignored until they start mouthing off about other stuff.

Football isn't the national game up here that iut is in england.

For most up here its a good excuse for a fight tbh.

A mate, Paddy who supports celtic (an irish descendant called paddy supporting celtic, who would have thought! lol) he was abotu 10 when 2 fully grown men who were rangers suppporters gave him a kicking. He woke up in Drury street nick 5 hours later face swollen up like a baloon.

No, not at all. But the fact was, he knew what the mood was among England fans that night and wearing a Germany top out in that atmosphere was like provoking a fight. If he went out dressed in non-football colours there would have been no problem, even with a Scottish accent. More common sense was required here

on a side note....

i personally think the scots feel they need to prove themselves against the english. being from the borders area i.e. growing up in Carlise (5 miles from north of city to scottish border), ive seen it for years.
they come from across the border on nights out and pick fights with us (us being lads my age from carlisle, myself included)....very mouthy breed. has to be said aswell, majority of the time they got their heads stoved in.

its the same the other way round also....if we go to say Dumfries...they would hear our accents and start yapping...
