well I picked up 'Super Ned' Alan and we headed through for the red 19. I had arranged to meet Tranton which we duly did.

Heres the dodgy character himself and his Astra TDI in the background, note super ned skulkin goff to the right of the pic.

Hes a nice boy. Anyway...

We head out seperate ways, Tranton had to go home and deal with the 'boss' and we went to get the 19.

We arrived and then it was time to start it. It wouldn't even plip the doors open. So using Marks Seat we jumped it.

After it started it cut out when revved so we let it run a bit longer.

Then we dragged the beast out for a spin. I was at the helm and damn were the brakes utter crap! Even using my left foot hitting the end stop the car would just slow, not actually stop.

Also there was noise from what I believe to be a dodgy engine mount.

Idle is very poor but hopefully cleaning the throttle body will sort that out.

Also due to tyhe fact the alloys were off it and it had its steelies back on the thing was sliding and wheel spinning all over the place.

I drove it to the point where it spat its own fog light out, so I had to use a bit of tape to stick it in.

the beasts heart, not much but it did keep up with Marks seat, he was booting it but he says he wasn't.

jobs that need done are the cambelt, fog light fixed, brakes and so on.

He tried to beat me in the 16V but never managed it. He said the fastest he managed was 101mph.

A14LN C owner of the deceased R5 GTT?

insurance finally paid out on the R5 yet u know or is he still fighting with them to get a decent payment for it?

my mate had a sierra saphire cosworth stolen from outside his work a few years back, was not messed with at all, as it came out of the factory and was in mint condtion, insurance was gonna pay out £2000 on it!

he fought the payment and after 8 months got £6500 out of them but the amount of hassle it took, put him off owning a nice car that did, he drives a company 1.1 fiesta now.

yeah £1500 is better than feck all.

thought he would have gone for a valver thou or now he has had a claim i guess his premium has gone up, insurance sucks, yet another way of ripping us off.

so looks like its gonna be a mass of 19's and roger's clio at the RR meet then (if we ever get that sorted) hehe

You both got back in one piece then - or rather two pieces!

With those tyres and brakes? He's mad Laughing

Best I got out of it was 115mph.

Sad to see it go but at least it's gone to an enthusiast - looking forward to the turbo conversion Alan Very Happy

....now how long will it be until I blow the money on a valver Laughing [/quote]
