This is MY baby, my phase 1 16V chammy.

Its just sitting not doing anything due to me having the Queen look after my license for me. Theres no real need to sell it other than I would rather see it used by someone. No one in the family can take it as they cannot afford the insurance.

I have owned this car for 2 and a half years, in that time it done 13k in the first year and from the last mot to its new one (29th may 2005 - 28th may 2006) it has done a mere 510 ish miles, about 250 of those miles had JB and Neal in it.

It of course sailed through the last MOT with total ease and it will sail through the next one.

  • Toyo Proxes T1S approx 2k miles
  • New rear discs and pads
  • new handbrake cables
  • new fuel pump
  • new alt
  • new PS rack
  • new rad (well 2003)
  • new windscreen
  • new wipers
  • new cambelt and tensioners
  • new clutch
  • new ph1 proper backbox
  • leather
  • pioneer cd head unit, sony front speakers, pioneer rear speakers
  • FULL service
  • MOT until end of May 2007, will MOT for new owner if they wish as it will sail through
  • new gearbox oil
  • exhaust manifold studs
  • new fuel filter
  • reconditioned starter
  • new clutch cable, gen renault
  • gen renault 19 floot matts
  • induction kit
  • new balljoints and track rod ends(approx 18 months old)
  • new heater matrix
  • new throttle cable
  • new rear mount

Theres a lot more I cannot remember.

The car is in exceptional condition mechanically, those that have been in it will testify to that.

It WILL hit the limiter in 5th.

It returns about 40 mpg at 70 MPH, can get over 50 easily if you sit behind a lorry.

Heater output top notch, cooling system spotless.

Spares that come with the car

cloth phase one seats and 4 extra phase 1 alloys and centre caps with no tyres, ideal for powder coating etc, bonnet.

engine bay

Side skirts will come off easily as I have had them off and cleaned it thorougly, no holes of course.

The body isn't perfect, passenger side door has a rusty scab, bonnets leading edge is pretty poor but not split yet, drivers door will be replaced with a good one, base of rear arches are holed but not an mot issue and its contained to small areas above the sill, no rust has spread to the sill and if you put your pinky in theres no corrosion behind the metal.

The engine runs sweetly, starts first time every time even after a several hundred mile drive when its hot, if you put the heater fan on to full heat it will maintain the engine temp to the first line even on the hottest days, you may melt inside the car but the engine won't.

I will get some more pictures.

How much is it?

£950

you may think thats a lot, good for you. Its worth it any day, you will not find one in this sort of condition thats as good for sensible money.

Like I said I will update with new pics very soon.

Nice to see folk having the balls to ask what the cars are worth.

Might start lead to them appreciating in value, the Phase 1's especially are becoming a rarity in all forms.

Don't think I've ever actually encountered a P1 19 16v that doesn't belong to someone I know.

still need to get a headlight, the door, the clutch done and wash it and new pics.

if I can get over 500 for iffy ones then a decent one is worth a k all day.

You have been in the chammy ben you know it can motor.
