I love the Standrd Alloys - looks great on a lowered car and you gotta love that cheap rubber!

yeah, they look quite good when they have all the centre caps. Trouble is, they always get nicked. Then the wheels look shite.

ok started work today. took the fence panel down as i said and pushed the car into its new home.

first thing i want to is fix my car's irritating little water leak. Do do this i have removed the radiator (which looks quite new) from the new car (henceforth known as 'WOX') and the bottom hose. I will flush them out and fit them to my car and see if its fixed. If not, then ill move round the system until it is.

While i was at it, i swapped off the standard grille and my passenger side headlight as it was slightly misted.

one other thing... WOX has the older style head with the press in pipe instead of a thermostat housing. Not sure which arrangement looks better...

As for my coil trouble, I believe its now sorted. Need to update my prog report.

Checked my coolant today and the level seems to have held since i swapped the rad and bottom hose and filled it up with nice orange coolant last weekend. So that appears to be fixed. One less thing to worry/lose my rag about.

today i removed the exhaust system and bumper from WOX. Will install on mine tomorrow, weather permitting.

Image

there it is. turns out the exhaust system itself is a Magnex, and matches my new magnex decat, shown at the bottom there, which by the way only cost a tenner :p

now heres a pic of the bolts that were holding the cat to the exhaust. Ever heard of a hacksaw mate?

Image

also gave my car a good wash, someone had a bonfire last week and it was covered with ash and crap. looks much better now.

oh by the way, does anyone know about konis?

the rear ones are yellow as expected, but the fronts are the standard Boge struts. I think i read somewhere that the koni for the front comes in the form of and insert that goes inside the standard strut. Anyone know?

that exhaust looks like the car has bottomed out a few times...

is that magnex system loud?

dont know if its loud or not, never heard it running yet.

if i get up and make a nice early start tomorrow i should be able to install it on mine, and put the other one on WOX. I bought a cheapo battery charger today and WOX's battery is now on charge so i can sling the cooling system back together and see about getting WOX running.

well as you might have guessed from my various topics about clio 172 engines and gearboxes etc, i may yet have a use for this car, as a guinea pig.

need to get some decent money together though obviously, but since getting dumped life has been a lot cheaper, phone bill next to zero, christmas will now be relatively cheap, moved to a cheaper place, got a payrise at work cos im so damn good etc etc.
