if u have a start up map, then u will be pretty much sorted for it.
where are you running the crank sensor from? and have you locked and set TDC reference? if so, then the start up map u have will be fine for ignition i'd imagine.
as for fuelling, if the injectors arent matched to the map, then it will throw it out....alot, but again its nothing a tweak wont sort.

dont rely on the lambda bar on the software too much...its crap...and doesnt work til fully up to temp.

if u get stuck i'll pm u me mobby number

Cheers Craig and I am slightly stuck!

All powers up fine and I have set the TPS as instructed but when I reset the unit the LED doens't turn green as it supposidly should. Now i'm not sure if this is supposed to happen straight away as i'm using the Megane's standard CPS 60-2 setup and i'm guessing that it will take a few revolutions for the ECU to recognise the trigger pattern but nothing!

Occasionally the light will flicker green and the engine will attempt to fire and the O2 reading does flicker and a poof of black smoke appears so she's deffo getting fuel and power to the coils and injectors but i'm wondering if I've maybe wired the CPS up the wrong way ie Signal to Earth and Earth to Signal pins which is preventing the unit from recognising the trigger pattern?

Any clues?

Just spoke to Emerald and they've said that as the light is occasionally flicking green they think the CPS is wired inccorectly so i'll try switching pins later when I get home.

Gotta investigate the Laguna aswell now as that decided to eveapourate it's coolant last night whilst stood running on the drive!

When it rains it bloody poors!

aye check wiring

you will also need to set 60-2 into the ECU config panel under the "set-up" tab

Aye did the 60-2 config setup last night and the basemap if that of a C20XE so it should be pretty good. I made the mistake of trusting the AutoData print outs which didn't have a clue what the 2 CPS wires were actually for!

Just another quick question that i'm sure to get laughed at for asking but my Injectors are number 4-3-2-1 but should Injector 1 not be mated to cylinder 1 and follow the 1-3-4-2 fire order or is that not how it works in the map tables?

Yeah I'm using the Cam Phase sensor as I'm planning on keeping the semi-sequential injection. There are I believe arguments for and against Sequential Vs Batch Vs Bank fire setups and we've run it for months now and have had no problems with it bar not being able to run vernier pulleys btu that's not a bad thing either going on recent events!

I was just wondering if the injectors which are currently wired 4-3-2-1 were in the correct sequence or if they should be the same as the 1-3-4-2 firing order?

Cheers

it depends how youve wired them from the ECU

Well they're all directly powered by the fuel relay and the ECU acts as a switched earth which obviously fires the injector in question when it needs. The M3DK has switched earth Injection drivers "1","2","3" & "4" and i've connected them up in sequence 4-3-2-1 which is what the AutoData pinout said was correct however i'm thinking that they should maybe be in the 1-3-4-2. How did you knock your setup up?

mine doesnt have phase sensor so it fires the injectors in banks of 2 (1+4, 2+3). tbh tho, even if u did have the injection sequence the wrong way round it would still run....

thats what i would have thought so I think it's down to serious overfuelling and a dodgy TPS. Time to hit the books me thinks. Cheers for the map by the way. I@m just off out for a play!

TPS changed for a Ford item which is doing the job so much better... i mean it's actually working. I'm not confident though that the Renault DIS coil pack is functioning correctly. Don't suppose anyone has a pinout for the x4 pins do they?

You only use 3 pins on it.

Looking at the plug on the coil, furthest right is 12v, then moving left is batch 1 and then batch 2....other pin is left unused.

The Sagem coils are far better than the ford DIS coils and can support higher rpm and shorter dwell periods. I've hit 9000rpm on one of those coils so far.

Cheers Ben

It also looks much tidier aswell IMO than having the EDIS unit sat tied back somewhere. I've had the car chugging away but it sounds like it's grossly overfuelling so i'll trim it right back and start from there.
