Right only had the car for two week's. But though I'll get round to sorting the idle problem on the car. Very common fault. from what I can find on the net. First off was to look at Chris H guide found on this site, As the 2.0 16V share's the same ISCV as the 8v's. Then out with the tool as in the guide and get the little bugger off. Here are some pic's of it.
How it came off the car. Very mucky indeed. Look's like it's never been removed.
A closer shot.
Cleaned it out best it could. Did'nt go nut's with it. Did'nt want bit's of cotton bud left in there. and finding it way into the engine. Fitted it all back together, and place it back in the car. Fired it up for a test from cold. Allowed it to tickover for two minute's. And then gave it a good blip. Now it not stalling when to snap the thottle shut. anyhow hre a pic of it cleaned up.

its the same idle valve and housing as the 1.8 and 2.0 ecotec engines found in vauxhalls.
funnily enough theyre prone to idle problems too! |

Dont these beastie's have 4 coils ? and im led to believe they are common for packing in and that gives bad idling ...or so im told. |

Well the stepper motor work's fine. it the muck that get's around the ball that's the problem. Jimbo as fully taken one apart, and as told me that the hole that the ball fit's around is only small anyhow. So it don't take much to block it up. |

It's all due to a well positioned breather pipe that draws in oil vapour and over time clogs it up Pete. I say well designed as I'm sure they wouldn't do something that also just happens to increase service dept. turn over every year.
I had to carry this out on my 2000 Astra roughly every 3 months to keep it idling correctly and funily enough i've just done it on Leanne's 19 Pete and it's running so much better when cold  |

Well been thinking of an idea. Of squirting carb cleaner into the ISCV with the rubber hose off on tick over. and then just a dab of WD40. about once a month. |

Right Put two new Yoko tyre on the rear end. After the nail in one. and the bad cut in the other one's sidewall. Handling is deffo better. having four good tyres all round now. Them gave it a quick wash with Nosey kid's watching. I hate Nosey Kid's. Going to be putting a ford style battery on it them reno screw on cap's are naff IMO. Still got that to do. |

Half Removed the front inner wheel arch cover's today. To clean the sunroof's pipe's. Removed all the mud that bulid's up there. Don't know what was in it but it Stank. |

Been doing all around checks on the car. I'm sure it's not a Reno. Somehow the windscreen washer's have fixed themself. Very un-Reno like. I least it picked the right time of year. |
