The time has come to sell my blue phase 2 hatchback folks. I just cant keep two 19s anymore, not do i have any use for two anyway.
Most people on here know the history of the car, but for those who don’t or are visiting the site…
(cut n pasted from the ebay ad I have written and will put up if noone here wants the car)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EXTERIOR
Bodily, the car is not a ‘minter’, but it is fairly good. There are the usual dents and imperfections etc. the biggest negative point to make is a small crease in the back corner of the body where the paint has cracked and the bare metal has just started to corrode. This would be a very easy fix. There is no rust on the arches, bonnet or sills, including under the sideskirts
It will come with the standard phase 2 alloys (not the 17s pictured here ), but no centre caps sadly. All 4 tyres are reasonable to good.
MECHANICAL
What this 19 may lack bodily, it makes up for mechanically, which is after all what you should be looking out for above all else. I have owned the car for about 2 years. In that time I have personally stripped and rebuilt the cylinder head and installed with new valve stem seals, reground the valve seats, skimmed the face, new head gasket, cambelt, thermostat and water pump. I also changed the clutch and replaced all 3 engine mounts. It has also recently had a new standard exhaust, new brake pads and new heater matrix
Another point to note is that the car does not have the infamously unreliable ABS installed, so that’s something you need not worry about going wrong.
The engine is standard apart from a cone filter, if you want the standard airbox, I have that and will give it to you with the car.
There is an alarm of some kind installed, but I have never figured it out and don’t use it. I have the fob for it though.
INTERIOR
The car has the sporty cloth interior, which is in generally good condition, with just a small split on the bolster of the drivers seat, which is where they all go.
Good points:
Rebuilt head/new gaskets/seals etc.
No ABS
Braided front brake lines
New exhaust
Recent clutch
NO RUST on arches, sills or bonnet
New heater matrix
Recent new engine mounts
Recent water pump
New brake pads
Recent Head gasket
Recent Cambelt
12 months MOT
Bad points
Usual parking dents etc
Small crease on rear quarter
Scrape on door (which i will probably replace by the time i sell it)
Rip on bolster
Unlike most other 19 16Vs, this car has not been thrashed about and neglected by a boy racer! (at least, not in the time I have owned it) It has been driven hard at times, but always maintained accordingly and treated with respect.
Overall then, this 19 is not without its flaws, but as you can see from the pictures, it cleans up nicely and if you have the time to tidy a few little things up, you will have a very nice example.
I have been as honest as I can be about the car, but naturally like any seller I cannot guarantee that there are not faults that I am unaware of. To the best of my knowledge, I have listed all faults here.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The car will have 12 months MOT on it at time of sale, which I am fully confident it will go through with no issues. Anything it does need I will of course fix.
I will be linking to this thread from my ebay ad if I end up listing it, so keep the silly shit to a minimum please. (yes I mean you schakal ) Character references are welcome though
Rear bumper looks knackered in that second pic, its not, its just dirty
More detail pics to follow, if anyone is interested
Car will be ready to sell in a few weeks time, any interest? |
