Hey all,
I wouldnt really call this car a proper project as its not having enough done/not got that much wrong!

However my welder friend and me basically made a special induction pipe for my 5, a single point injection 1.4.

It started off as part of an exterior piping cover from a boiler (which is why its white) but has turned into what it is now.Took us about half a day to do, and is nowhere near finished (structurally there pretty much though) as it will be grinded, smoothed, sanded down and probably painted using some high temp paint. The pipercross is actually for a Focus but fits well enough. It will also bolt onto the exisiting 3 bolts on the Carb top when we are finished.

As for it working, well its better than the old airbox assembly I had(am keeping that as a new owner will probably want it original) and you can feel its a bit smoother in acceleration and a tad more powerful but I doubt much.

As mine went well hes set about making one for his Project AX GT which has alot fuller engine bay than mine!

Sorry for the naff pics, waiting on a new camera.

HAHAHA, it is! It is a bodge, but it cant really be a proper bodge as it works.Theres nothing like that available for my car and in total cost me a fiver from B&Q.The weird thing is it still idles fine and at the same RPM as before even though theres no sensor....

Probably not, But for my car it suits, for alot of others where proper kits that are designed in the specs of the cars are available noone would really make something unless it was designed as a bling factor.

yep,and good old B&Q cos the old timer looked at me weird when I asked for a metal pipe and showed him the diameter. When I said what I had planned he said he would reduce it as the pack included loads of other bits I didnt need and it was damaged.
