Looks decent enough but sadly, you'll not get the £650 you want for it, especially with no tax or MOT.

Not trying to be nasty, just a word to the wise. Wink

Good points

Popular williams blue (debatable)
Very reliable engine(no oil leaks or water mixing whatsoever)
New clutch fitted 500 miles ago
excellent gear box no popping out of gears etc
genesis alarmed
can be driven away at own risk since no mot or tax (Laughing)
mileage genuine 98k can be checked with all paperwork
serviced recently 41 pt
renault alloys with all 4 metal centre caps
very economical on motorways if driven sensibly
very clean inside with pioneer speakers all round(6x9's and 6.5)
full service history, book stamped till 72k (fsh..? even though it got 98k not 72k)

bad points

needs a new tyre possibly 2
no mot or tax
bonnet release cable broken
bumper corner slightly hangin off (needs new clips maybe)
few rust spots mainly rear arches (and sills)
rear wiper doesnt work (does the rear heated window and central looking?)
aerial broken
bumpstrip missing on rear quarter panel
no spare
no stereo

1 its 449 not williams blue as it is a 19 not a williams
2 there are alot of bad points near enough everyone that a 19 valver has
3 have you had the side skirts of and checked the sills? as i doubt you have alot of metal let under them

as for a offer i will put forward mine £200 Laughing no joke

those arches do look pretty bad and you can see where its spread along the top of the side skirts, so i would defo say the sills have gone as well.

its doubtful it would pass an mot with those arches so the car is worth less than £100 imo

sorry fella

As I keep telling people, 449 sports blue is the paint used for the williams 1 and 2, they changed to 432 monaco blue for the williams 3, therefore it is legitimate to call 449 blue 'williams blue' Razz

Hmm I didn't know that but if the raider was as well known and popular as the williams, I have no doubt that people would often call it raider blue.

Hi, thanks for your replies and suggestions. Would like to point out that the sills on both sides will be more than fine since they were both welded on last MOT. I am considering Mot'ing cos I dont think it shud cost much to get it through. The rear window heater does work and boot has always only opened using key since I bought it. Although I have realised 650 may be to high, I am willing to accept reasonable offers but not in the £200 region.

Right, the rear wiper, boot lock and heated rear screen not working are due to the wires in the hatch loom being knackered

pull the loom apart and you will prolly find a mess like this

[img:816:616:4b9599526d]http://img126.imageshack.us/img126/6310/loom19mn.jpg[/img:4b9599526d]

If you are lucky there will only be a few breaks, if you are unlucky there will be many breaks.

I had to replace all the loom on my hatch to sort that problem

Oh and as for the arches, my old hatch GYP went thru mot on in dec 2004 with no rust, a year later in 2005 it failed the mot due to the bubble of rust on the rear arch

[img:633:365:7f325eeb85]http://premium1.uploadit.org/WickedNeo//new2.jpg[/img:7f325eeb85]

which is not quite as profound as yours and only on one side spreading underneath the car to the rear beam mounting points and under the side skirts making huge holes in the sills.

With side skirt off and a little poking

[img:816:616:7f325eeb85]http://premium1.uploadit.org/WickedNeo//gyp6.jpg[/img:7f325eeb85]

[img:979:739:7f325eeb85]http://premium1.uploadit.org/WickedNeo//rust2.jpg[/img:7f325eeb85]

that little lot was quoted as £500 to repair to get it thru the mot, those side skirts hide a lot!!

Hi, yeah the skirts were taken off by myself last mot and it was pretty bad but I had new plates welded in pretty much along the whole length on both sides. Also just wanted to point out the car is an M Reg 1994 since private plate may suggest older. Will try and get it to the mot station next week sometime and will keep you updated. Thanks also for the informative reply regarding wiring. Could you possibly tell me how to access the rear wiring loom and why the wires tend to break.

Thanks

The wires tend to break cos renault used cheap wire, they are placed under quite a bit of stress at one point where the hatch is opened and shut which in the end causes them to break.

Open the hatch, on the drivers side of it you will see the wiring attched by clips leading down to where it enters the car, the bend in the loom is the most likely place where the wires have broken.

you just need to remove the sleeving, prise one end out of where it goes into the rest of the car and push it up the loom and check along the wires for breaking, replacing the broken sections.

use insulation tape on the mended section, push the rubber sleeve back over the loom and pop it back into the bodywork.

Hi, Thanks, rear wiper, boot central locking is working now along with everything else since 4 wires were cut, just used wire connectors to fix them and wrapped them all insulating tape.

Cheers
