hello all, had my phase 1 19 16v for a few weeks now, gotta say great car. Few probs but hey it is 15 years old.
1. Wipers will not stop in the park position, just stay where they are when you turn the stalk off.
2. Front struts leaking. Got new koni suspension delivered today for it though.
3. osf wheel bearing knackered. Heard this is a common problem with this car????
4. Fog lights dont work.
That's all.
Paid £350 for the car with 12 months tax and 1 months test. It has phase 2 alloys, k & n air filter, magnex stainless steel exhaust with magnex decat pipe.
She drives lovely, pulls strong, just handles a bit crappy at the mo due to the front struts being knackered, will be sorted next week.
Any way just wanted to say hello to you all, great site with loads of info on it. BRILLIANT. Cheers MILLSEY

1. fuse has blown change it.
3. only common when idiots don't fit them properly.
4. no big loss no need for them to work is there unless you frequent maccie d's and want 12 year old ho's in the car.

1. the fuse has not blown, am suspecting the wiper stalk.
4. fair point, but do they not have to work for the MOT???
It's a hatch.

Foglights might be the connector halfway between the headlights, behind the grille/in front of the bumper

Front foglights do not need to work for the MOT, only the rear fog light is required for the MOT

fuse always causes the problem in my vast experience, never had to change a wiper stalk only the indicator stalk.

The fuse however pops all the time so they don't park properly.

chris could very well be right, millsey.. there's 2 fuses for the wipers, one for wiping and a separate one for the park function.. did you check both?

anyway, if the wipers otherwise work, it won't be the stalk at fault.. if it isnt the fuse, it will be the parking switch on the wiper motor..
