So its finally time for the engine swap and has been a bitch so far;

--------------------
Got a (rough) list of things that need swapping over to make the r19 16v lump into a Clio 16v lump (cheers guys http://www.retro-renault.com/viewtopic.php?t=9596)

-INLET MANIFOLD

[auxillary components and brackets]:
-ALTERNATOR
-POWER STEERING PUMP
-WATER PUMP (will use off 19)

-WIRING LOOM
-COOLANT HOSES
-FUEL PIPES
-----------------------------

Started by unbolting and disconnecting as much as we could see, then dropped the subframe, supported the shell from underneath and rolled it off.

Started draining the gearbox oil to take out the driveshafts and some little metallic things fell out (small pins),

[IMG:150:128:0c14c2bf7f]http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/5306/1001511ng9.th.jpg[/img:0c14c2bf7f]

Thought it might have had something to do with the car having no drive until we saw this;

[IMG:150:128:0c14c2bf7f]http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/9662/1001517tm7.th.jpg[/img:0c14c2bf7f]

The hole it can from on the gearbox;

[IMG:150:128:0c14c2bf7f]http://img515.imageshack.us/img515/3647/1001515br9.th.jpg[/img:0c14c2bf7f]

and a slightly mangled CVJ

[IMG:150:128:0c14c2bf7f]http://img226.imageshack.us/img226/4938/1001518if9.th.jpg[/img:0c14c2bf7f]

Anyone have a spare good cond. passenger side driveshaft? Smile Also does anyone know the price of a new one? Renault, GSF or otherwise?

It seems as though the bolt on the passenger side mount has broken off in the bottom of the mount... new mount time? I take it there are two separate parts to the left gearbox mount (one bolted to the bulkhead, and one to the gearbox)?

This is what I think is the bottom part, unless it has completely broken

Looking at the photos again, I think the ride height might be a little bit too high, and the next mod might be to lower it;

I paid about £31 (+ £20 surcharge, refundable) for a passenger shaft from Euro car parts in bristol. Awful service but cheap prices. GSF in bristol were out of stock iirc

UPDATE: It's still going, over 5 weeks later!

Comparing Auxillary Components and Belts;

Renault 19 16v;
[IMG:150:128:bf07b7a416]http://img150.imageshack.us/img150/9348/1001512vr7.th.jpg[/img:bf07b7a416]

Renault Clio 16v;
[IMG:150:128:bf07b7a416]http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/5918/1001513cj3.th.jpg[/img:bf07b7a416]

The belt travels through the power steering pump, alternator, water pump and crank.
I'm going to need a new aux. belt as its badly cracked on the old clio engine, does anyone know the part number? I'm still trying to sort out my dialogys. Be much appreciated, otherwise i'll have to resort to measuring the belt.
