Yeah im confused as well. the 172 box is the strongest box you can get in standard form to cope with the power. Most people think the GTT box is strongest. when does the torque start hitting the gearbox. You have already gone up to about 3k-4k already and then once the turbo has got to full boost its where the most strain is put on to the gear box. The gearbox from the r19 is strong but how much testing has this had unless somebody has stuck a turbo on the car. the 172 box is known to take the power, its just peoples poor driving skill that ruins them, short shifting being one of them.
