Stupid question maybe, but is the clutch problem the inner cable seizing on the outter cable? This will also stop the cable returning properly when you release the pedal so the ratchet on the pedal will not take up the slack, the bite point will move and you'll maybe not get it into gear if not enough movement on the clutch arm.

Try releasing the cable both ends and greasing the innner cable and see if that helps the problem.

The clutch problem and no MOT are killing the value of the car.
Looks nice though.
