I've never done a brake conversion, so I feel I'm talking out of my anus a bit here, but if you had to fit spacers to push your wheels away from the brake calipers and/or discs and now you want push the wheel rims back in to correct the offset, you'll just bring the collision problem back? Tell us what's failing to clear, pref with pics, so we can better understand the issue (if only for future reference!)
