We'll start with the 1/4 inch, I love my 1/4 inch gear, the fact its so small means you can get right into things easily.
Halfords pro plastic sided ratchet. The retail when I bought these was a tenner.
I currently have 2, I had another but it fell to bits. Build quality is rather poor on them, a bit of a let down tbh. They do the job but the screws loosen off or the ratchet starts to go.
Ergonomically they are quite good, comfy to hold, the push button to hold the sockets on and the slide switch are all good additions. If only they lasted a bit longer. TBH it may be due to the fact they are heavily used by me, they would no doubt be fine for light occasional duties but heavy daily use take sits toll on them.

This is years old, I used to to crack off a wheel bolt with my foot and its not been right since, but before that it was good. The main issue with it was the fact it is very easy to knock the selector switch when using it a real annoyance.
Its a very light ratchet and is reasonably well made, one went on ebay not long ago for sill ymoney, I got this one free of some old boy a few years back. Anyway it is well built the fact mine is iffy means only that I should have tried to undo a wheel bolt with a 3/8 ratchet.
