Project Marmite for sale

It a late J plate Phase 1 Chamade in 449 sports blue with just under 137,000 miles on the clock. Ive owned the car since January 2005 and covered a good 35,000 miles (mostly trouble free) since then. Has all the usual goodies, leather seats, electric windows (front and aftermarket rear), heated electric mirrors, electric sunroof, RCL and most importantly a trip computer that is in A1 condition. Mod wise its the usual business, lowered front and rear, downpipe back powerflow stainless exhaust, multispoke 15" wheels and just an open cone filter under the bonnet. The only other modification is that I have fitted a phase 2 bonnet, grill and headlights. Upon purchasing the car the original bonnet had started to corrode around the vent (common) and water was making its way though into the plug wells causing the car to misfire above 4500rpm.

Now the more important bits, condition etc. Interior wise its in good nic for both age and mileage, leather is good with the usual wear on the driver & passenger outer bolsters. Carpets are fairly good with the only wear being on the drivers side under the pedals. Original dials have been replaced with complete set of unique white ones (still have originals). Digital trip computer works and has no leaks, previous owner has fitted silver vents and switches which tbh are not to everyones taste or mine so most of the switches are now black. Digital clock does not work, display is damaged (had been tinted blue and was cracked while removing it).

Exterior wise the car is starting to show its age, still polishes up good but there is damage. At some point in its life the car has had the N/S rear arch repaired, however the paint has started to peel away from the inside lip. The metal work itself is not corroded but for whatever reason the paint has come away. Both wings have faded on the top edges from people leaning over them down the years, small amount of corrosion on the O/S arch by the sill. The drivers door and passenger have been keyed while in my ownership and have been repaired to the best of my ability. Front bumper is currently only atatched with afew cable ties and 1 bolt after a rather unfortunate event. Was being towed after having the clutch cable snap, tow car pulled away at a junction and only took the towing eye with it ripping the bumper off in the process :steam: . Other than those issues its just the odd ding around the car.

Mechanically the car is good, pulls well throughout the rev range, good oil pressure and water temp. Had new oil + filter in November, new radiator + thermostat + coolant + gearbox mount last summer, new clutch + rear engine mount Jan last year and new cambelt + tensioners at the end of 2006. She requires a new front engine mount and also the bushes on the steering rack are starting to wear resulting in a slight play in the rack itself. Last MOT in December brought up a slight oil leak from the engine but im unable to find it and the car has lost no oil since the last service in November which would lead me to believe it could be from removal of old filter. The main issue which ive not had the time to cure is there is a leak from the petrol tank if filled above half way, its at the join between the filler pipe & tank. Its had a repair made to it but it didnt cure it fully. Finally both rear tyres are boderline, fronts are good Toyo T1-S with even wear.

Electrically the central locking can be choosy at times with the N/S/R door sticking. Also drivers window sticks, there is a small plastic clip that holds the window onto the motor which has broken and causes the window to move around slighty when in use. Can be slow to turnover in cold weather but Ive got a spare starter motor to go with the car.

Ive got a folder full of paperwork, MOT's, invoices etc from over the years. I also have numerous bits of car in my shed to go with the car, cylinder head (part stripped), rear discs, front break pads, switches etc. Has got MOT till end of December and is taxed until end of August. Im not going to kid myself price wise as these are cheap as chips and there is work that needs doing. Car is located just outside Norwich, I know atleast one member from on here who has seen it who can vouch for me. Will post some pictures over the weekend after Ive given it a good wash.

Ive no idea what to sell her for but after seeing a rotted ph2 chammy go for £200 on the bay with engine troubles am I asking to much for £300?

I was considering selling it to a scallywag for a grand but I would know it would be run into the ground or written off. Sadly she needs to go and even with the problems she is too good to scrap/break but I dont want to sell it to a moron who will just ruin her.

Just checked my emails and noticed that I had a PM. Not been on net for awhile, still have her absolutely bugger all interest but tbh I was expecting that.
