lol, won it!
Neal, it's for measuring the loudness of your car sterio. it also plots graphs of the sound curve so you can soften out the harsh bits using your graphic eq

lol yea kind of. but that said, it cost's £30 to have your eq set up and if you nock it and move the sliders then you have to repeat the process, so it's really an investment.

pluss I can charge the chavs owners £20 a time, to test their SPL levels (up to 140 db) at car shows.

lol, tbh unless you have a good head unit with a built in eq or an external eq it would only show you how good/bad your sterio was.

You wouldn't be able to do much about it other than move the speakers to a new location which could effect the upper third of the octaive in either a positive or negitive result. (move the tweeter further away from your head in other words).

kind of... it depends how far you want to go with it but the basic point is not to have your tweeters up in the dash as it distorts the sound by making them louder.

Ideally you would have the tweeter mounted in the door pod with the woofer but as that is often impractical; so you use your eq to lower the volume of frequencies going to the tweeters.

lol i've given up on booming stereo systems, i just want a nice sounding system with enough volume to cover the exhaust tone heh

I've replaced all the standard renault speakers for nice component jobbies

From Genesis Car Audio powered by an Alpine head unit and two 100 watt amps (1 for left side of the car and one for the right lol)
The components fit into the original renault speaker pods and the amps sit nicely tucked away hidden from sight and they give me a nice crisp sound

yea, I know what you mean Simon. Although my car has 2 subs in it, the main focus is quality. thats why the subs are always turned down so they simply enhance the systems effect.

Genesis make some nice amps but i am yet to hear any of their components. I presume if they are made to the same standard they will be very nice indeed!
